GLORIFYING TRAITORS AND MURDERERS

The Age Insight section demonstrated yesterday exactly why this ailing newspaper is in trouble.

Rather than bring its readers some contemporary news on the Arab/Israel conflict, its editors have dredged up the tired and aged story about convicted Israeli traitor Mordechai Vanunu who, during the mid-1980s, revealed classified national secrets about his country's nuclear reactor at Dimona - A DEFIANT SPIRIT.

Naturally, in the true spirit of Faifax, Vanunu is painted as a hero in spite of the fact that his revelations resulted in the deaths of three and injuries to eight fellow workers ambushed and murdered in a PLO attack while travelling to work in 1988.

I guess the fact that Vanunu was responsible for the deaths of Israeli workers makes him a hero to those who control the content of the news stories from this region.
