AGE LETTERS WHITEOUT

The Arabist Al Age published the following letter in yesterday's edition:

Voluntary segregation

IN RESPONSE to the article ''Faith in equality a must'' (Comment, 2/1), the Israeli Supreme Court ruled in January 2011 that it is illegal to enforce gender separation on public buses, but the ruling allowed that the buses in question could run temporarily on the basis that any segregation must be voluntary.

If you think it doesnt make sense, you might be right. I wonder how much content the letters editor airbrushed out of existence to achieve that outcome and why on earth it was deemed necessary to mangle such a letter in the first place?
