Hypocrisy at the United Nations Human Rights Council

After the carnage. A seat on the UNHRC of course.

Surprise, surprise.

Syria murders 500 of its own civilians and the human rights world barely blinks an eye - UN council issues tepid rebuke of Syria. Does it want to avoid another Libya?

This article suggests that UNHRC's watered-down condemnation of Syria for its attacks on civilian protesters came about because it wanted to avoid a repeat of the Libyan disaster.

A better suggestion would be that the Syrians are our buddies and the Assad family can butcher as many of its own as it wants. Now let's get down to the business of condemning Israel for defending itself.
