Our local media is totally clueless when it comes to an understanding of the discussions going on in Washington between President Obama and Prime Minister Netanyahu. Much of the discourse between the two leaders is, of course, pure show and the United States and Israel remain firm allies. The Age reports and opinion articles on the meeting seem to wishfully reflect that the situation is otherwise and the Australian is at least reasobably close in Middle East requires pragmatic realism but the great Israeli cartoonist Yaakov Kirschen (above) gets it right.
