BLACK DAY FOR THE MELBOURNE AGE

Mark down 26 April 2008 as the day when this once reputable newspaper crossed the line and became a vehicle for the dissemination of sheer filth - Arabs move in where Israelis fear to tread.

"But the resulting exodus of Jews — between 10% and 25% of the town's 20,000 people are estimated to have fled — has lured displaced collaborators from Gaza, frustrated by property prices in overcrowded Arab areas of Israel and the unofficial Jewish taboo against selling to Arabs."

The Palestine Authority does have on its books an official taboo against selling land to Jews as does the Kingdom of Jordan. As for Saudi Arabia, a Jew would find it hard to even enter the country. To my knowledge Ed O'Loughlin has never deigned to give this information any coverage in the hundreds of articles he has written for Fairfax. Yet, Age editor Andrew Jaspan, formerly the editor of The Sunday Herald in Scotland, allows his newspaper to publish this shameful racist slur against Jews based on a handful of selected anecdotes!

Then again, Jaspan is no stranger to racist slurs against the Jews. While at the Sunday Herald, he allowed these extraordinary claims to be made in an article on 9/11:

"Who do you think they were? Palestinians? Saudis? Iraqis, even? Al-Qa'ida, surely? Wrong on all counts. They were Israelis; and at least two of them were Israeli intelligence agents, working for Mossad, the equivalent of MI6 or the CIA. Their discovery and arrest that morning is a matter of indisputable fact. 'To those who have investigated just what the Israelis were up to that day, the case raises one dreadful possibility: that Israeli intelligence had been shadowing the al-Qa'ida hijackers as they moved from the Middle East through Europe and into America, where they trained as pilots and prepared to suicide-bomb the symbolic heart of the US. And the motive? To bind America in blood and mutual suffering to the Israeli cause.'" -2 November, 2003.

Jaspan is in deep trouble at the Age for reasons other than its coverage of news from Israel and non-coverage most of the news from Palestine while O'Loughlin is hanging around like a foul smell long after his use by date which was supposed to be months ago. The partnership has lingered just long enough to bring the organisation to the brink of disaster and everlasting shame.

Later.

The Dishonest Reporter becomes the Racist Reporter and I'm not surprised one bit by Herr O'Loughlin's piece of drek. Just compare it to the puff pieces he writes when he reports from Palestinian refugee camps.

You are right that this is not journalism but racist propaganda.

During the entire period of attacks against Sderot O'Loughlin has not had time to do any articles on the victims of the attacks.

But now he appears to confabulate this mound of elephant dung, amply aided by his editors.

Honestreporting.com should have a look at this

a question for this racist piece of shit o'loughlin...
if there is an unofficial Jewish taboo against selling to Arabs how did the Atar family manage to buy their house?

"But right across the road from Timsi's supermarket the Atar family, refugees from the Gaza Strip town of Beit Lahia (eight kilometres away as the Qassam rocket flies), were building an extension onto the house they bought last year."
LOL jeez you're such a dumbfcuk ... r all the Irish like you?

Thankfully, the Irish are not all like O'Loughlin. The great majority are decent people however, there are scumbags in every society be it in Sderot, Gaza and in Ireland. O'Loughlin happens to be a scumbag who happens to come from Ireland.

Last month Foxtel aired a programme about the Nazi connection to Ireland both during and after WW2. If we had Mister Ed's moral compass we would conclude there is an unofficial Irish propensity to support fascist murderers. They gave Nazis a haven in a time of war and O'Loughlin the Irishman provides cover for Hamas murderers today.

QED.

"Their discovery and arrest that morning is a matter of indisputable fact."

Is there any record of the discovery, arrest and subsequent trial of the Mossad agents as alleged in the Scottish rag Jaspan once edited?

Absolutely not. At least he's conistent in allowing his journalists to provide rumour, innuendo and half-truths dressed up as fact in his newspapers.

The Age, Jaspan and O'Loughlan are a disgrace to the journalistic profession.

How sick is this?

When O'Loughlin finally goes to Sderot to write a story it's not about the Jewish victims of the town but it's about the Arab victims.

Typical bigotry!

and what of Fairfax director , democrat [US],AJN staff writer Bruce Wolpe what does he think about all this..we can only presume whilst he is still a Fairfax Director , whilst he has not publicly ever criticized Fairfax reporting of the Israeli/Palestinian war he certainly must approve of it.
Shame!

Arabs living in Israel have autonomy of their religion, education and local government i.e. they alone administer their mosques, clerics, schools, towns and villages.

How does O'Loughlin explain the Arabs who in Israel's diplomatic corps, the Supreme Court Judge, and others, the professors at the Universities, the Heads of departments in the hospitals and the gamut of hi-tec professionals, lawyers and accountants working alongside the Jews in Israel?

He doesn't!

Nor does he ever cover the myriad of anti-Semitic rants on Hamas and PA television let alone what is said about Jews in the Palestinian street.

Could it be that this reporter doesn't know about the anti-semitic Hamas Charter or does he wilfully suppress any mention of it in his reporting of events from his so-called Jerusalem posting?

For one who has been so reticent about offical hate indoctrination by both the Palestine Authority and Hamas against Israel and Jews (particularly when it comes to indoctrination of children) O'Loughlin is surprisingly quick to damn all Jews with his selective use of comments from individuals both Jewish and Arab traumatised by the violence in the region and the by the daily missile fire from the enemy directed at the homes, schools and hospitals of Sderot.

Where I come from Ed's reporting and in particular his unsubstantiated claim of an unofficial Jewish taboo on the sale of land to Arabs is called racism and one would hope that both he and his editor are suitably taken to task over this matter.

After presenting two articles slanted against Israel on Friday, the Age balanced the situation on Saturday with O'Loughlin's racist stereotyping against Jews and a letter to the editor that throws no new light on the conflict but regurgitates the usual dogmatic anti-Israel line.

Well done Jaspan, your contribution to fairness and honesty in reporting is legendary.
