Legendary for regularly placing his foot in his mouth, Robert Fisk made a complete idiot of himself with this comment to ABC1's Kerrie O'Brien on Monday's Four Corners on the subject of the Butcher of Damascus, now suddenly out of favour with most of the pundits of the pseudo left:-

In other words, Fisk either doesn't know or he's lying.
Fisk was once described by New York Times journalist Ethan Bronner as pursuing an anti-Western agenda "nearly to the exclusion of the pursuit of straight journalism."

The anti-Zionists can't have it both ways. On some forums you have accusations that Israel is arming or lobbying other powers to arm Syrian opposition groups and then the other hate-Israel people like Fisk are saying that Assad is Israel's best ally.
Clearly, the Zionists must be very smart as to be playing both sides at once. Or maybe, just maybe, the Israelis don't like Assad, but are not going out of their way to topple him as any association of Israel with the opposition will be easily exploited by Assad.
